Some Problems Concerning Ethnic Groups Studies in China

This paper makes a discussion under five subheadings related to the basic theories and practices of ethnic groups, namely the definition of ethnic groups, ethnic identity, relationship among ethnic groups, ethnic groups and regional culture, as well as policies on ethnic affairs. It argues that the charm of ethnic groups studies lies in people-orientedness and that future researches should focus more on practicalness.
