Abstract

Wushi sag is located at the west end of Kuqa foreland basin.The wells Wucan-1 and Shenmu-1 have successively got discoveries in the Cretaceous in the study area,revealing large potential of exploration,but the results of production test are not ideal.This paper discusses the characteristics of hydrocarbon pooling in the study area based on an analysis of oil and gas sources,recognition of oil and gas types,study of burial history and structural evolution,and in combination with fluid history analysis.It is believed that the oil and gas was mainly sourced from the Triassic Huangshan formation source rocks on the northern margin in the geologic history.Primary lithologic or structural-lithologic reservoirs are the main exploration targets in the study area.
