Municipal Activism and The Pursuit to Recover in the Weimar Period

Abstract

The Weimar Republic was founded on the base of defeat, to the new German Republic, how to recover Germany was the most important problem. After the war, the key of whether Germany could recover lied in whether cities could accomplish the recovery. Processing the democratization, municipalities all pursued activism and propelled recovery into each field of society, the stabilization in the Weimar period was connected with municipal activities.
