On Consistent Research and Exploration of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics

In the report of the 17th CPC National Congress, Hu Jintao, the General Secretary, emphatically pointed out, to hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the most fundamental is to stick to the road and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. However, explorations of the socialist road fitting China's situation were started by the first-generation leading group with Mao Zedong at the core; the second-generation leading group with Deng Xiaoping at the core initiated the socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics; the third-generation leading group with Jiang Zemin at the core inherited and developed the socialism with Chinese characteristics by the important thought of the three represents and successfully brought it into the 21st century; the CPC Central Committee with Hu Jintao as the General Secretary proposed the Concept of Scientific Development and further enriched and developed the socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics.
