Abstract
To understand the effects of different Soil texture on GS,Free amino content, the accumulation, translocation and efficiency of nitrogen in wheat, filed experiments were carried out using strong-gluten wheat cultivar Zhengmai 366 in sandy, loam and clay three soil textures at the Huaxian city,Henan province in 2011 and 2012.The results indicated that,in the three soil textures, with the advancement of reproductive period,GS activity and free amino content showed as inverted V-shapes with different peak depending on the soil texture. The peak in Loam was on May 12,while the peak was on May 2 in sandy and clay.Meanwhile,GS activity in sandy had a shorter duration by 10 days than that in loam.At the same measurement points,GS,Free amino content,N physiological efficiency and N harvest index in sandy were higher than that in the other soil textures. But the N allocation proportion, grain yield, protein content and N use efficiency in sandy was the highest among three soil textures. The N accumulation of grain in sandy(82.46%) depended on the absorbed N before anthesis, while the N accumulation of grain in loam and clay depended on the absorbed N after anthesis with contributions up to 41.58% and 45.77%,respectively.Hence,the sandy soil should focus on improving the maintaining capability of soil water and fertilizer, ensuring the effective supply of nutrients and extending the leaf function period to promote yield and the quality formation and increase nitrogen uptake and utilization efficiency for strong-gluten wheat.
