To analyze the clinical significance of pregnancy with single umbilical artery in obstetrics(with 47 cases report)

Abstract

Objective:To analyze the clinical manifestation and the results of pregnancy in 47cases with single umbilical artery(SUA) found by prenatal ultrasound.Methods: To review 47 fetuses with SUA found in our hospital from June 2003 to February 2006.We followed-up their clinical manifestation and pregnancy outcome,then analyses the influence of SUA on pregnancy and the clinical significance in obstetrics.Results: In 47 cases,28 cases combinated other abnormalities,3 case had abnormal chromosome.In the cases going on with their pregnancy,10 cases had disorders during the pregnancy course or the labor,the other 15 cases were fine and there were no abnormality in the following-up.Conclusion: When we find a fetus with single umbilical artery,we should analyse it from different aspect.When the fetal structural abnormalities and the chromosome disorders are excluded,the pregnancy can be preceded,but we must pay more attention to the fetuses′ growth and delivery.
