Abstract
The transformation of He Qifang’s writing style from the May Fourth to the Revolutionary, two main types of Chinese writing style in the 20th century,is of significance, especially for its thoroughness. He had completed the transformation in only several years, and shifted himself from a petty bourgeois poet to a Party’s artistic soldier.Technically,He’s transformation is mainly in two aspects: vocabulary and grammar/rhetoric.The former shows how the passionate and collective revolutionary vocabularies substituted for the classical and May Fourth ones;the latter shows how the writer expressed his transforming ideology with adequate discourse.
