"Negative Dialectics" and Artistic Truth——On Adorno's Theory of Artistic Critique

Abstract

Adorno's dialectics is the philosophical foundation for both the Socio-Critical Theory of Frankfurt School and the negative aesthetics.With dialectics,Adorno criticized the identity of capitalism,the popularity of commodity fetishism and the commercialization of art and indicated that the nature of art is not of identity but of autonomy,personality and form.Moreover,based on dialectics,Adorno advocated atonal music,revealed the negative significance of ugliness and advanced artistic Utopia.
