Abstract

The influencing factors on stability of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(HPAM) solution were explored. The influence of environmental factors on the stability of the HPAM solution was reflected by changes of the concentration and the viscosity of its solution, and the structure of different samples was explored by infrared spectra method. It showed that pH value, light and mineralization affect viscosity of HPAM apparently, but do slight effect on concentration of HPAM.Low temperature and shear intensity affect viscosity and concentration of HPAM slightly, but high temperature and shear intensity did apparent effect on viscosity and concentration of HPAM.After exploring the structure of HPAM solid,HPAM solution and HPAM solution after high-temperature heating by infrared spectrum,it showed that the different degree of different hydrolysis caused the difference of polyacrylamide structures. These environmental factors, temperature,pH value, light, mechanical shearing and salinity effect greatly on the stability of the HPAM solution.
