Abstract

The illustration of the proposition in classical poetic s tudy,which states that poetry is based on diction,runs through Chen Yinque's com mentary on Tang poems.Its specific intension is the unity of poetics and rhetori c,and the unity of liberalist notion and the spirit of bearing the national cult ural morality.Therefore,Chen's commentary on Tang poems provides a distinctive t ext,which imparts rudimentary knowledge to beginners,for the construction of the modern Chinese poetics.
