Abstract
Objective To evaluate the curative effect of excmier laser photorefractive keratectomy(PRK) for the correction of myopia.MethodsPRK was performed on 732 eyes of 424 cases with myopia. All patientshave been followed up for one year. Results The patients were dividedinto three groups:group A(-1.12 ~ - 6.00D),group B(- 6.12 ~ 10.00D)and group C(- 10. 12 ~ 21 .5D) .On one year follow up,the uncorrected visual acuity was equal to 90.0%,80.0% and 57.9% of thepreoperative corrected visual ecuity in group A, B and C, respectively.And 95.35%,93.4%,51 .6% were within± 1.00D of the desired emmetropia;the rate of haze greater than grade 2 was 0.90%,2.88% and6. 11% in group A, B and C expectly. Elevated intraocular pressureswere observed in 14.5% of the eyes. Conclusions We think that thePRK is a safe and effective method to correct myopia,and the effect was better lower than - 10.00D.
