Abstract
In order to explore the effect of salinity on seed germination of Laguncularia racemosa(L.) Gaertn F,the seeds were set under 10 salinity gradients,0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,to investigate the seed germination.Germination percentage, germinating viability, germination index, average germinating time and vigor index have been choused as germination indices. The results indicated that the most optimal salinity for the seed germination was 0~25,the germination percentage was not different from salinity gradients:nearly 100%.In 10 salinity, the germination viability and germination index were highest. When the salinity was above 30,the germination was slightly inhibited, but the germination percentage was still high(73±9)%.When the salinity above 40,the germination was significantly inhibited, either germination rate or germination quality:the germination percentage was below 4%,and germination viability and germination index were significantly lower than other salinities.
