Analysis of the Factors Affecting Survival Rate of Fruit Tree Stem Grafting in Spring

Factors affecting the survival rate of fruit tree stem grafting in spring were analyzed.The result indicated that the degree of cambiums alignment and nutrient consumption of scion after grafting were the two most important influencing factors.According to the contacting area between the cambium of grafting stock and spike,the main stem grafting methods ranked from large to small were skin-insert whip graft,double cut-graft,triple cut-graft,double-whip graft,cut-graft and cleft graft.The appropriate method should be chosed based on the thickness and survival ratio.The active state of the cambium of the scion at the time of grafting and the climate before and after grafting had great impact on the survival rate of the scion.It was a good new idea to solve the problem of rootstock active cambium and scion dormancy by warming the rootstock to accelerate germination and grafting ahead of schedule.Accurate determination of the best grafting time according to phenology was simple and reliable.And the impact of weather conditions on the survival rate before grafting should be considered seriously.
