Abstract
Objective:To analyze the karyotypes of infertile males so as to direct their procreation.Methods:1.The semen of infertile males was detected by the WHO semen detection system.2.Peripheral blood of 356 infertile males was gained,then we cultured lymphocytes,made slides and analyzed the karyotypes by G banding(C banding if necessary).Results:1.Among 356 infertile men,there were 82 patients with azoospermia,126 patients with severe oligospermia.2.55 cases were found with abnormal karyotypes in the 356 infertility cases(15.45%),including 24 sex chromosome abnormality,21 autosome abnormality and 10 polymorphism.The abnormal karyotype rate in azoospermia is 25.61%(21/81)and the rate in severe oligospermia is 11.90%(15/126),while in oligospermia is 12.84%(19/148).Conclusions:The frequency of the chromosome abnormality in infertility males(15.45%) is higher than the normal people.Our findings suggest that abnormal karyotypes can cause male infertility.Karyotype analysis is important in azoospermia people.
