Abstract

The stressstrain behavior of soil is in general dependent on the stresspath and largely irrecoverable, because the deformations depend on the confining pressure. Thus, the strains of soil due to a given increment of stress may vary considerably depending on the stress level, the confining pressure, and on whether the changes of stress involve primary loading, unloading, or reloading. It is shown that the predicted and measured strains agree with each other but it underestimates deviatoric stress and volumetric strain with a simple stresspath. Therefore, application of Yasufuku model is good for compacted decomposed granite soil.
