Abstract
This paper adopts the landscape pattern indexes and the dynamic models to quantitatively analyze the variation of the wetland landscape pattern which extracted from the multi-time remote sensing images of Dongting Lake Wetland Reserve. The result indicates that the area of the natural wetlands was decreasing, and the area of the artificial wetlands was increasing respectively;the wetlands landscape patterns had become more complicated, the landscape diversity of the whole wetland landscape was gradually increasing, the heterogeneity was gradually enhancing, and the degree of landscape fragmentation was increasing. It is considered that the wetland landscape change was primarily resulted from such natural and artificial factor as the climate change, mud sedimentation, farming and aquaculture around the lake, replacing farmland into lakes, artificial cultivating reed and planting trees at the lake beach. It provides the policy-making reference for related department to protect and use the wetland resource in Dongting Lake.
