Abstract
In order to ensure the feed for the musk deer in the spring, summer, autumn season not to rancid and be frozen in winter,it is very necessary to develop palatability strong and high quality pellet feed for the animals. The 28 normal male musk deer(3-10 years old) were chosen and randomly divided into the experimental group(fed with pellet feed) and the control group(fed with original feed) kept in the same conditions. The results showed that the musk deer usually were able to adapt to pellets feed in 13 days, and adapting time varied with a variety of feed pellet palatability.Average weight, musk yield and incidence of the musk deer in the test group and the control group had no significant differences in the test period, the incidence and mortality of the animals in the test group were significantly lower than those in the control group.
