Abstract

The chromosome karyotypes of two different grasshopper species,Anaptygus rufitibialus and Pseudoptygonotus prominemaginis were reported in this paper. It was showed that Pseudoptygonotus prominemaginis karyotypes with 2n(♂)=23,they are all telocentric chromosomes. The sex-chromosome belongs to large chromosomes, which took the first place in all chromosomes according to its relative length.Anaptygus rufitibialus karyotypes with 2n(♂)=17,they are middle chromosomes and telocentric chromosomes, the sex-chromosome belongs to large chromosomes, its relative length was at the fourth place in all chromosomes. The cross frequencies of chromosomes of these two short-winged grasshopper species mainly appeared on locus 1 and locus 2 during the meiosome process.
