The Structure of Contemporary Literary History

Narratives of both classical and modern Chinese literary history were mainly based on canonical works as well as representative writers.In the last twenty years,however,there were over seventy published works that presented contemporary Chinese literary history by focusing on different time periods,literary trends,literary phenomenon and themes.This paper attempts to investigate the narrative structure of contemporary Chinese literary history from three aspects: the system of literary production since the 1950s,the relationship between literature and literary trends in the 1980s,and the academic background of the contemporary literary criticism.
