Abstract

Shipping companies are playing a leading role in container transportation As a result, planning and development of container terminals need to be continuously modified in order to meet the demand of shipping companies In the paper, the process of containerization is reviewed and the measures for development taken by some foreign ports for larger container carriers are presented The development of domestic ports and the problems they are facing are also analyzed
