Present Status of Research on Lightweight Thermal Insulating Materials and Its Developing Trend

With the continuous development of all walks of life,it is difficult for the traditional thermal insulation materials to meet needs from the society and industries,especially the industry using lightweight thermal insulation materials,such as metallurgy,chemical industry and building materials industry.Not only the lightweight insulation materials constantly upgraded and improved,but also some new lightweight insulation materials come into being and the composition system of the lightweight thermal insulation materials are being gradually broadening.Based on the comprehensive literature review on the research activities,manufacturing and application of the lightweight insulation materials,this paper discusses research status on mechanism of thermal insulation,methods of manufacturing and application technology of lightweight thermal insulation materials as well as some technical problems left behind,furthermore,the author indicates the future development trend of the lightweight insulation materials.
