Influence of Chinese herbal additives in activity of serum enzyme in weaning piglets

Abstract

128-160 sucking piglets in 16 litters which had similar fetals and farrowing dates were randomly divided into four groups,one of which used for control,and the rest for treatments.Three treatments were added with traditional Chinese herb feed additives Ⅰ(4 kg/t),traditional Chinese herb feed additives Ⅱ(4 kg/t),Chlortetracycline(70 g/t) and bacitracinzinc(30 g/t) in the same basic dietary,respectively.Experimental diets were given to each piglets of four groups at 7 days of age until 28 days post weaning.18 sucking piglets with similar body weight were selected in each group on weaning(25~(th)) day.The blood samples were taken from the vena cava on 22 and 1,4,7,14 and 28 days post weaning to study the effect of Chinese herb feed additives on serum activity of AKP,CK and LDH in weaning piglets.The results showed that Chinese herb feed additives could increase serum activity of AKP and decrease serum activity of CK in weaning piglets so as to lessen early weaning stress and enhance growth of piglets.
