Abstract
Objective: To investigate the diagnostic significance, advantages and notes of sleep ambulatory electroencephalography (AEEG) in epilepsy. Methods: 836 cases of natural sleep EEG monitored by MB 800-type AEEG apparatus were analyzed. Results: In them, 106 cases were normal (12. 7%) , 61 cases were atypical abnormal (7.3%), 669cases were monitored to have epileptic discharge ( 80.0 %) . Conclusions: Sleep AEEG can reflect the sleep structure and abnormal discharge during the period of night, can be used to observe the whole process of clinical seizures and the dynamic change of EEG in seizures. It is helpful to the diagnosis and localization of localized seizure, to find the focus of generalized seizure.
