Abstract

Production of biogas from water hyacinth by anaerobic digestion is studied in this paper. Parameters affecting the anaerobic digestion such as size of feed of water hyacinth, temperature, ratios of the water hyacinth to inoculated sludge, etc., are tested to optimize the digestion process. It is found that higher temperature, appropriate inoculation rate, such as 1 to 1, and proper size of feed are favorable to the digestion and generation of biogas.
