Abstract

ObjectiveTo determine the scavenging effect of flavonoids ect.on superoxide radicals.MethodsReduction of chemiluminescence worked as an index with pyrogallic acid self-oxide in alkaline medium.ResultsChrysanthemum,purslane herb,quercetin,rutin showed scavenging effect on superoxide radicals.ConclusionThe method is simple and quick.It can be used for determination of antioxidant activity from Chinese herbal medicines.
