Abstract

In order to study the influence of soil resistivity and anode placement manner on cathodic protection potential distribution of long distance pipelines,a physical model of the long distance pipeline cathodic protection potential distribution was established, the mathematic model of the potential distribution defined by the tube element method of the boundary element algorithm, and the Matlab programming tools were used to solve the model. To verify the correctness of the simulation results firstly and then simulation calculation was performed under different conditions of resistivity and anode placement manner. The results show that the soil resistivity and anode placement manner have great impact on the cathodic protection potential distribution of long distance pipelines.
