Preliminary Report on Heterosis of Japonica Hybrid Rice in Ningxia

Three CMS lines and 18 restorers were used to make 54 F 1 hybrids. The heterosis of 8 main agronomic traits were analyzed. The results showed that there existed an apparent positive over-male parents heterosis and standard heterosis in the characters of grain weight per plant and panicles per plant. panicle length, 1000-grain weight and seed set were a negative over-male parent heterosis and standard heterosis. The correlation of plant high and seed set between F 1 and their corresponding male parents was apparent,and other agronomic traits were not apparent.Meanwhile, the result showed that in all F 1 of three CMS lines ,there existed a significant heterobeltiosis and some standard heterosis in the terms of grain yield per pland,216A showed the heightest average F 1 grain yield,followed by 16A and 552A.
