Abstract
The article considers the basic problems of encouraging agricultural production in Russia. It has been shown that methods and tools for encouraging an increase in agricultural production through market mechanisms are not yet reliable or complete, and the support of agricultural production, which has been rendered for a number of years, is not sufficiently effective. The Russian food market and the problems of its growth are analyzed.
