Abstract
A survey was conducted on three cases of epidemic disease in turbot (Scophthalmus maximus L.)in different farms of Hebei and Liaoning provinces,the results showed that all examined cased was determined as Edwardsiellasis caused by Edwardsiella tarda through isolation and identification of the pathogenic bacteria.The main biological properties of 18 strains were detected,all examined strains belonged to typic E.tarda wild type.Examinations of serotype showed that 18 strains have the same serotype.Every one representative strains isolated from these infections were proved to be the corresponding primitive causal agent of the disease and possess the strong pathogenicity by artificial infection experiment of healthy turbot.
