Abstract
The effects of pretreatment with 4℃ low temperature(0,2,3,4,5 and 6 days respectively) on somatic embryogenesis were conducted before immature cotyledons were cultured with 3 varieties in soybean ( Glycine max L.). The results showed that the pretreatment with 4℃ low temperature (3 or 4 days )could stimulate somatic embryogenesis and raise frequency of embryogenesis. Three varieties were similar in reaction to pretreatment with low temperature.
