Abstract
ObjectiveTo assess the va lue of local application of urokinase in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis i n the lower extremity. MethodsIn 45 cases of deep vein t hrombosis in the lower extremity, big dose urokinase was administered via the di stal superficial vein of the affected limb. ResultsCliln ically cure was obtained in 28 patients, effectiveness in 15 patients, ineffecti veness in 2 patients. The total efficacy was 95.6%. Conclusion Local application of urokinase via the distal superficial vein of t he afffected lower limb for deep vein thrombosis is safe and effective, and may be used as the first choice treatment.
