Abstract
Objective:To optimize the formulation of Weikangshu tablets by central composite design/response surface methodology. Methods:Independent variables were L-HPC content and CMC-Na content, disintegrating time and breakage were dependent variable.Linear or nonlinear mathematic models were used to estimate the relationship between independent and dependent variables.Response surfaces were delineated according to best-fit mathematic models, and optimum formulations were selected.Prediction was carried out through comparing the observed and predicted values. Results:Optimized formulation of Weikangshu tablets was proposed to consist of 8.16%~9.27% L-HPC and 1.9%~2.71% CMC-Na.Bias between the observed and predicted values was within 6%.Conclusion:It shows that the optimum mathematic model is highly predictive.
