Breeding of New Maize Cultivar Hengdan 6272

Abstract
The new maize cultivar Hengdan 6272,which was bred by crossing H462(female parent) and H72(male parent) by Dryland Farming Institute of Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences,showed the characteristics of high yield,good quality,multi-resistance and wide adaptation.Hengdan 6272 was suitable for direct seeding in Tangshan and Langfang,as well as in other summer maize areas of central and southern Hebei.The suitable planting density for this cultivar should be 63 000-67 500 plants/hm2.
