Domestic R&D,the Spillovers of Opening up and the Regional Differences of the TFP

Abstract

Using the panel data of TFP,some index of the spillovers of opening up,domestic RD expenditure of some provinces from 1993 to 2008,the article estimates the effects of the spillovers of opening up and domestic RD expenditure to the TFP.The empirical results are as follows: Both domestic RD expenditure and the spillovers of opening up have a positive effect on the TFP,however,compared with the spillovers of opening up,the impact of domestic RD expenditure is much larger.It shows that domestic RD expenditure is a most important factor of promoting TFP growth,while the difference of the spillovers of opening up is not the granger reason of TFP.
