Analysis of loop electrode excision procedure for 37 cases with benign cervical neoplasm

Objective:To investigate the effect of loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) in the treatment of benign cervical neoplasm.Methods:The clinic data of 37 cases from Jan 2006 to May 2007 were retrospectively analyzed and the effects in 1 month,2 months, 6 months after the surgery were observed.Results:The average operative time was 6.5min, bleeding range from 5 ml to 20 ml. Postoperative pathology:cervical polyp 17 cases(46%),cervical condyloma 8 cases(21.6%),nabothian follicles 7 cases(19%),cervical myoma 2 cases(5.3%),cervical polyp with nabothian follicles 3 cases(8.1%).Return visit after 1 month,2 months, 6 months, the cases of the cervical appearance, shape and size were recovered respectively 24(64.8%),34(91.9%),35(95%).Conclusion:LEEP is an effective treatment for benign cervical neoplasm since simplified operation,less hemorrhage and complications after operation.
