Abstract

Purpose To investigate primary lymphoma of the testis and analyze their immunophenotypes and morphological features. Methods Twelve cases of primary testicular lymphomas was investigated microscopically immunohistochemically. Results The average ages of the patients was 61 years old. The main symptom was swollen testis without other specific finding. All cases were diffuse non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas,The results of immunohistochemistry showed that the lymphoma cells in 10 cases were derived from B-lymphocyte and in 2 cases from T-lymphocyte. Conclusions When a diffuse mass of a testis occurs in a middle or old age male, the possibility of lymphoma should be considered at first. The definite diagnosis of the disease depends on the pathological examination. Immunohistochemistry plays an important role in differential diagnosis.
