Abstract
Cryogenic treatment was carried out on 40CrNiMoA before and after tempering, the changes of microstructure and properties were studied. The results show that the strength decreases with the increase of ductility when the samples experience cryogenic treatment before tempering. However, the strength, ductility and toughness improves when the samples experience cryogenic treatment after tempering. As a result, the cryogenic treatment after tempering can improve the combination properties of 40CrNiMoA steel.
