Abstract

Based on the field investigation,two-way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN) and distended correspondence analysis(DCA) were applied to analysis on the artificial vegetation in sandy hill areas of northwest Shanxi.87 samples with 109 plant species were classified by TWINSPAN into 11 associations that were located at different altitudes. The characteristics of each association were described. The results of DCA ordination were consistent with TWINSPAN classification, and indicated that the altitude, slope and soil moisture were the dominant ecological factors responsible for the flora distribution in the research areas.
