Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of nutritional education on knowledge and behaviors of primary students in Jinan,and to provide evidence for developing specific intervention strategy.Methods A total of 1 213 students(632 in intervention group,581 in control group) were chosen by random cluster sampling.The intervention group received intervention for a year while the control group received no intervention.Anonymous questionnaire on nutrition knowledge and dietary behaviors was carried out before and after nutritional intervention.Results After intervention,the intervention group had significant improvement in both dietary nutrition knowledge(P 0.01) and dietary behavior(P 0.01) than the control group,as well as the proportion of eating breakfast(P0.01).Conclusion The school-based nutritional education intervention is effective,which can significantly improve nutrition knowledge and behavior among primary students.
