Regional homogeneity method to analyze encephalic functional characteristic of PTSD patients with the treatment of electroacupuncture under resting state

Objective: The purpose of this study applied regional homogeneity method to analyze encephalic functional characteristic of PTSD patients under resting state.Methods: Functional magnetic resonance imaging was performed in 12 PTSD patients under resting state.Reho method was used to analyze the differences of before and after treatment of electro acupuncture.Meanwhile,CAPS,HAMD and HAMA were evaluated.Results: The following increased Reho brain regions were found in PTSD group compared with the before of treatment of acupuncture: left middle front gyrus,left superior temporal gyrus,right inferior front gyrus,right middle temporal gyrus,right insula gyrus,right thalamus,cingulate gyrus,parahippocampal gyrus,cuneus/ precuneus,lingual gyrus,caudate nucleus,and cerebellum(P0.05).Conclusion: With electric acupuncture,it was effect to treat PTSD patients.The mechanism may be correlated with front,temporal,insular,occipital,limbic system and cerebellum,they may be relative to reward pathways.
