Abstract
Objective To establish the models of saccular aneurysms of carotid arteries in Chinese rural dogs, and to explore the pathogenesis and intravascular interventional treatment of intracranial aneurysms(IA).MethodsThirty healthy Chinese rural dogs were divided into two groups(A and B)randomly, with the ratio of female dogs were 50% and 33.3% respectively.Grafted the external jugular veins(EJV)on the defective tissues of bilateral carotid arteries to construct 60saccular aneurysms of carotid arteries by surgery. The production rate and size of saccular aneurysms, the accurate resistance time of contrast media, the width of saccular aneurysms' necks and hemodynamics were examined by digital subtraction angiography(DSA)consecutively in 8weeks after operation to verify the stability of saccular aneurysms models of carotid arteries in canine. Results After operations,30experimental Chinese rural dogs were healthy and survived without significant neurological complications.Sixty experimental saccular side-wall aneurysms of carotid arteries were created successfully with 58 aneurysms(successful production rate reached 96.7%).Conclusion Grafted the external jugular veins(EJV)on the defective tissues of bilateral carotid arteries by surgery is an ideal way to construct saccular aneurysms in Chinese rural dogs, which could be performed routine interventional operation by using catheters and worthy of promotion.
