Abstract

In order to know the germicidal efficacy and corrosiveness of a solid chlorine dioxide disinfectant, suspension quantitative germicidal test and metal corrosion test were carried out. The results showed the average killing rates of spores of Bacillus subtilis var.niger on cloth strips exposed to the solution containing chlorine dioxide 40mg/L for 10min,or 30mg/L for 20 min. The killing rate of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli on cloth strips exposed to the solution containing chlorine dioxide 5.0mg/L for 10min were 100%. The solution containing chlorine dioxide 20 mg/L with a 20 min contact time could destroy HBsAg antigenicity on stainless steel. After being stored at 54 ℃ for 14 days, the chlorine dioxide content of this disinfectant decreased by 8.00% in average. The solution containing chlorine dioxide 30mg/L had light corrosive effect on stainless steel, carbon steel, copper and moderate corrosive effect on aluminum.
