Abstract

Objective:To observe the efficacies and complications of treating stress urinary incontinence in female patients by retropubic tension-free vaginal tape(TVT) procedure and transobturator tension-free vaginal tape(TVT-O)procedure.Methods:By retrospective study,36 female patients undergone treatment of stress urinary incontinence in our hospital between Aug.2008 and Aug 2011 were grouped into either TVT procedure or TVT-O procedure. Results:The procedure duration by TVT-O was significantly shorter than that by TVT.The two groups were statistically different(P0.05).Although intraoperative bleeding was less in TVT-O group than TVT,yet,it had no statistical difference. The complications by TVT-O were not as high as TVT procedure. Conclusion:Both TVT-O and TVT are effective procedures for treatment of female stress urinary incontinence, and clinicians can be at their free option of the procedure.Yet,TVT looks simpler, safer and wider in clinical indications.
