Abstract

As an important branch of linguistics,lexical semantics has a long tradition.Theories of Lexical Semantics(2010)by Dirk Geeraerts offers a comprehensive overview of the historical development of word meaning research with detailed comments on each of the significant theories.This book also points out the prospect of lexical semantics.In sum,it is an important reference book for those who are engaged in the studies of lexical semantics.
