Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of combined antibodies in distinguishing lung adenocarcinomas from squamous cell carcinomas. Methods The expression of p40(ΔNp63),CK5/6,TTF-1,napsinA in 119lung adenocarcinomas and107squamous cell carcinomas were examined by Elivision immunohistochemical methods using tissue microarray. Results p40、CK5/6were positive in 93.5%(100/107)and 96.3%(103/107)of lung squamous cell carcinomas, and the specificity were97.5%and 90.8%,respectively.For lung squamous cell carcinomas, the specificity(99.2%)and sensitivity(99.1%)of the combination of p40and CK5/6were higher than each of them.TTF-1、napsinA were positive in 87.4%(104/119)and 89%(106/119)of lung adenocarcinomas, and the specificity were 93.5% and 96.3%,respectively.Conclusion NapsinA is the specialist marker for lung adenocarcinomas.Combined detection of p40,CK5/6,TTF-1,napsinA is valuable to distinguish poorly differentiated lung adenocarcinomas from squamous cell carcinomas.
