Abstract
Finite element method as a method of numerical analysis for calculating centrifuge strength has significant superiority over the traditional calculation methods. The applications of the finite element method on the strength analysis for the decanter centrifuge drum were summarized, and some important problems were discussed when this method was used on the drum. At last, more applications of this method on the designs of decanter centrifuges were prospected.
