Abstract
Objective:To assess the short-term effect of treating the knee osteoarthritis with posterior stabilized knee prosthesis. Methods: Thirteen patients with knee osteoarthritis were treated posterior stabilized knee replacement in 15 knees.Pre-operative Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS) scoring was performed in the total 13 patients,5 of them scored 30 to 40,8,40 to 50 and 2,50 to 60.After the surgery, all patients were followed up in(7±2.1) months. Results: Follow-up of the total 13 patients in 15 knees suggested no postoperative infection and no occurrence of loose joint.By postoperative HSS scoring,11 were excellent outcome,2 good and fair and another 2 moderate recovery. Conclusion: Posterior stabilized knee arthroplasty can effectively alleviate the pain of knee due to knee osteoarthritis besides function improvement, with satisfactory short term therapeutic effect.
