Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of differentiation inducer phenylacetate(PA)on the expression of Bcl-2,Bax and Caspase-3 in rat C6 glioma cells and explore the possible mechanisms of PA action. Methods C6 cells were cultured in vitro. In experiment group,C6 cells were induced by PA at concentration of 5.0mmol/L for 72h.In control group,no PA was administrated. The expression of Bcl-2,Bax and Caspase-3 was detected by immunocytochemistry. Results The expression of Bcl-2 was unchanged in the two group(P0.05),while the expression of Bax and Caspase-3 in the experiment group was higher than that in the control group(P0.01).Conclusion PA can enhance the expression of Bax and Caspase-3,which might consequently induce apoptosis in C6 glioma cells.
