Abstract
Objective To research clinical and EEG characteristics of patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME).Methods Twelve patients were retrospectively studied on clinical characteristics,EEG data and drug efficacy.Results Twelve patients had myoclonic seizures,some accompanied with generalized tonic-clonic seizures and (or) absence seizures.The EEG has rapid generalized spike-wave or polyspike-wave complexes.Treatment with Sodium Valproate and topiramate has a satisfying efficacy.Conclusion Diagnosis of juvenile myoclonic epilepsy is primarily based on clinical features,history of myoclonic seizures should be carefully asked.video EEG monitoring should be performed if necessary.
