Abstract

The duration of crosslinking reaction of a PVA/PAN composite membrane by glutaradehyde was studied. Pervaporation tests of water ethanol mixture through the crosslinked membrane were performed. The results showed there is optional duration of crosslinking reaction, after which the permeation flux of the membrane was 337?(g·m -2 ·h -1 ) and the separation factor 389 7 when the feed concentration of ethanol was 96 2%?(massfraction) and feed temperature 70?℃. Pervaporation tests with feed concentration of ethanol from 30% to 98 3%?(massfraction) and feed temperature from 50?℃ to 78?℃ were also performed to study the influence of operation factors.
